What is the Express Entry system and the programs it covers?

Among the several immigrant-friendly countries, Canada is considered to be the best.  Most immigrants desire/prefer to settle in Canada because of its opportunities, quality of living,  economic development, social security and several which enhance a living. The country has also showered improvements in its immigration system for the welfare of the new immigrants. It eradicated its previous immigration system which had several loopholes and instead started the Express Entry System for the ease of immigrants.

What is this Express Entry System?
It is an electronic platform operating on a point based system.  This is the best option for an immigrant willing for a Canadian Permanent Residency Status as it solely works upon a fair points based selection. For being eligible, a candidate has to score 67 points and these points are provided on certain parameters such as age, qualification, work experience, language skills, adaptability and more. After meeting the required points, the candidate has to create his profile in the Express Entry as Expression of Interest. This profile is then placed in a pool, known as Express Entry Pool. Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the official immigration body of Canada reviews the profiles and selects for PR based on Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS). Draws are conducted at a cut-off CRS is determined during each draw. Profiles with highest CRS are issued with an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR

Applicants who receive the ITAs are provided with a time interval of 90 days to complete their documentation and file their PR application. Post receiving their visa and PR status, they can move to Canada as a permanent resident.

What are the programs associated with the Express Entry System?
The Express Entry System has four programs which can be applied to depending upon the applicant skills and purpose of immigration. They are:

Federal Skilled Worker Visa Program: This is one of the widely chosen programs and suits best for candidates who have skills and qualifications which are in demand in Canada. Many skilled workers opt for this program for receiving their Canada PR status.

Federal Skilled Trades Worker Visa Program:  Under this, the applying candidate needs to have skills in a specific trade with a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.

Canadian Experience Class: This class serves best for experienced Canadian workers wishing to settle in Canada as PR. As they already have a good language efficiency, knowledge and adaptability to the Canadian lifestyle, it is the best option for them.

Provincial Nominee Programs: The provinces of Canada participate in this program to fulfill their skilled workforce requirements. They nominate the profiles from the Pool who best serve their requirement. Selected profiles are issued a nomination certificate from the province which adds to an additional 600 points and increases their CRS score. However, Quebec does not operate any of its program under the PNP. It follows its own immigration system for aspirants interested to settle in Quebec.
